Apple Sour Cream Crisp
Adapted from Simply Recipes.com and New York Apple Country Recipes
Filling
4 – 6 sliced tart apples
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup sugar
2 Tbs flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 tbs honey
Topping
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 tbs honey
1 tbs butter/margarine
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Beat together sour cream, sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and egg (can beat by hand). Add apples, mixing carefully to coat well.
Make Topping by combining oatmeal, flour, sugar, cinnamon, & nutmeg. Cut in butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Pour apple mixture into 8×8 baking dish and sprinkle with oatmeal topping. Drizzle with honey and bake for 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees. Can also be microwaved for 12 minutes on high.
Serve hot with a dollup of sour cream or whipped cream.
