What is Kever Avot?
Kever Avot is the custom of visiting graves of loved ones between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and has its roots in Eastern European tradition.
Kever Avot services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 5 at all three local Jewish cemeteries. The services for CBD’s Memorial Garden and Temple Emanuel’s Home of Peace will begin in the chapel at Oak Hill Memorial Park then proceed to the respective cemetery, led by Rabbi Pressman and Rabbi Magat (Temple Emanuel). The service at Shalom Gardens will be led by Rabbi Aron (Shir Hadash).
