Posted by challahbackgirl on February 2, 2009

Good, Kosher, Organic Eats coming to Mountain View!

The Kitchen Table Opens TBA. They are currently open for Private Parties Only.

142 Castro Street, Mountain View, Ca.

Boasting a relaxed atmosphere with elegance and style, the restaurant expects to become nationally acclaimed for artisinal kosher cuisine- quality food that’s skillfully crafted right in the back of the restaurant. With briny pickles barreled onsite, high quality meats smoked in a state-of-the-art smokehouse right at our restaurant and a cornucopia of locally produced ingredients, the cuisine is an alchemy of Mediterranean, traditional kosher and slow-food fare. The Kitchen Table’s menu is also accentuated by California culinary sensibilities and standards, delivering a distinctive kosher menu unavailable and unmatched anywhere else in the world. The restaurant was founded by local community members who shared a passion for food and saw an opportunity to provide the Bay Area with kosher food that was fresh, different and uniquely appealing to the diverse demographics of the region.

They are under the supervision of the Vaad Hakashrut of Southern California. Entree’s will ranges from $13 to $28.

    Just a little while longer….

    Dear devoted Friends and Foodies,
On behalf of The Kitchen Table Restaurant, I sincerely regret that we’ll have to keep you on your toes…with an empty stomach, for just a tad bit longer. Instead of opening on February 9th, our doors will remain closed until we can assure that all of our kinks have been entirely smoothed out; we want to make sure all of you have the tastiest dining experience possible. We promise to keep you updated. Thanks for your patience and your appetites!

Dear future-fed (patient) patrons of The Kitchen Table,

On behalf of restaurant, I would like to express my deepest apologies for leaving you hungry for news regarding the status of our grand opening. Our Facebook group is almost 600 strong and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for faithfully supporting The Kitchen Table before we have even opened!

So, the news you’ve REALLY been waiting for: starting this week, we will begin conducting catering services for private parties, wine tasting dinners, and business functions- bringing the delicious food from our kitchen table to yours’. For the time being, these services will be the ONLY way to taste our artisanal kosher cuisine; we hope to have reservations and walk-in’s starting soon but cannot accept them at this time.

We know how hungry people are for this opening but as with any business that’s starting out, things never go quite as originally planned.
we are excited to fill your bellies with our pastrami, brisket (and more!) as soon as possible. Your sustained enthusiasm and understanding are wonderful!

    ~Chef
