Action Alert: Israel Solidarity Rally In San Jose This Sunday

Israel Solidarity Rally This Sunday, Jan. 11, at 1pm

There will be a pro-Israel rally on Sunday, January 11 at 1pm at the Santa Clara County Building plaza located at 70 W. Hedding Street in San Jose. The South Bay Jewish community will convene to support Israel and voice our wish for peace. Keynote speakers will include Israeli Consul General Akiva Tor, Ro Khanna, chair of the DCCC Indo-American Committee, California State Assembly member Ira Ruskin, and Rabbi Melanie Aron of Congregation Shir Hadash.

This rally is part of “A Week of Solidarity with Israel,” a national initiative beginning this week to underscore and highlight the deep and widespread support of Israelis, Jewish and non-Jewish alike.

The Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley is committed to addressing humanitarian and social needs in southern Israel, part of this national initiative to stand in solidarity with Israelis during the current conflict with Hamas, the terrorist organization in control of the Gaza Strip.

Saturday is Jews’ Next Dor Shabbat

Spend Shabbat with the CBD community, as Jews’ Next Dor, Congregation Beth David’s Young Adult Group leads Shabbat morning services, and sponsors lunch this week. Come support Jews’ Next Dor, and schmooze over lunch. It’s our first ever Jews’ Next Dor Shabbat. All Congregation Beth David Shabbat services are open to all. Congregation Beth David is a Conservatice Synagogue associated with USCJ.

Jews’ Next Dor had a great time at their Ice Cream Social and Board Game Night Nov. 15. Continue the fun at Congregation Beth David’s Board Game Night, December 6th. Bring your favorite games and a kosher dessert to share.  It will held in the Beth David Social Hall on Saturday, December 6, 7:30 p.

Play Mah Jongg, board games, cards, even poker, while you nosh and chat with your friends.

Ice Cream, Board Games, and Birthdays can only mean one thing for Jews’ Next Dor. Our Got Game? Ice Cream Social and Board Game Night is back! A few of you have been asking when the next game night is. The answer is November 15. So mark your calendar, we’ve got a lot in store for your Saturday night.

Don’t come empty handed: bring your favorite board games to share, $5 to get in, and if you want a new toy to donate to our annual toy drive for ages 0-17.

Jews’ Next Dor board game night and ice cream social returns. Please bring your favorite board game(s) to share and join your  fellow Jewish 20 and 30 somethings to indulge in ice cream with all the fixings! $5 a person. We’ll be in the Beth David social hall from 7:30pm to 11:00. RSVPs appreciated to jewsnextdor[at]gmail.com.

Contribute to our annual Toy Drive by bringing a new toy or more for our annual toy drive to support Jewish Family Services. We’re looking for new toys for ages 0-17 unwrapped.

We’ll also be celebrating some Jews’ Next Dor November b-days; (If you have a November birthday and want to be included let us know).

We’ll also have our group scrapbooks out and music playing.

Come try your hand at board games with fellow Jewish 20 and 30 somethings and indulge in ice cream sundae bar. Bring your favorite board game to share, we’ll have twister, Jewish Apples to Apples and others on hand. We’ll be in the social hall of Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Road, Saratoga, Ca. We’ve all done the ice breaker where you share your favorite ice cream, well now you can RSVP with your favorite ice cream flavor or topping. RSVP to cbdyag[at]gmail.com. $5 suggested donation.

We’ll also be collecting new toys in their original packaging for our Holiday Toy Drive. Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far, let’s keep the toys coming.
