Spicy Havdallah Dessert Party

It’s getting chilly outside, but T’KEYA and Jews’ Next Dor are warming things up with a Spicy Havdala Dessert Party. The night starts with cozy havdala goodness and fire, wine, and spices. You are welcome to bring your own implements of havdaluction. Our spice boxes can play together.
Potluck dessert and wine party to follow. Join us! Please bring chocolate, fruit, vegetarian dessert of choice, or your favorite kosher wine or spirit. Please note our host has a cat.

Purisima Creek Redwoods Hike: Short & Long Options

Park & Ride at S Corner of 280 & 84, Woodside, Ca
The first part of the hike is approximately 4.8 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation change (In other words, we will go down 1,200 feet and have to return. For comparison, the Wunderlich hike was 1,000 feet of elevation change.)
Beginning hikers are very welcome on this part of the trip. We are happy to accommodate any hiking speed!
We will do a loop and return to the trail head around 1:30pm. Those who wish to end the day here should be able to get back to their cars at the Park & Ride around 2pm. Please bear in mind, because we will adjust our pace for beginners, that these are just estimates.
For those who want to continue, please pack a lunch. We will drive around to a different area of the park to do a different loop of around 7 miles and 1,400 feet elevation change. This part of the hike is only for those who feel they can maintain a pace of around 2 miles per hour. We should finish around 6pm.
If anyone is interested in doing only the second part of the hike, please let me know in advance, and we can work out a meeting plan.

Wunderlich Park Hike ‘n’ Stroll

10am. Meet @ Wunderlich Park, 4040 Woodside Road, Woodside.
10:15 sharp. Hike takes off. Don’t be late!
Jews’ Next Dor, the young adult group of Congregation Beth David (Saratoga) and the young adult group of Congregation Kol Emeth (Palo Alto), and Yidventure (Bay Area) are going for an 90 minute easy hike and stroll in Wunderlich Park. All Jewish 20 & 30 somethings are invited to join them!
Wunderlich Park features redwood forest, open meadows, beautiful oaks and madrones. The trail is hilly but not really steep, and we’ll hike at a pace that is mellow, groovy, and conducive to conversation. Event covers 5 miles, with 600 feet of elevation. Admit it. You want to get out. The woods are beautiful, and the air smells great. Hiking boots and a bottle of water recommended but sneakers okay. RSVP to JewsNextDor [at] beth-david [dot] org. Directions: To reach Wunderlich Park, take Woodside Rd. (Hwy 84 West) exit from I-280. Go 2.7 miles west towards the hills. Look for the small brown entrance sign on your right. This sign is easy to miss, so note your odometer at I-280. When you get to the parking lot, look for the guy or gal with the clipboard. Parking is free but can be tight, so carpooling is encouraged.
