As a Drive Leaf Book

Dear Friends,

I just want to call your attention to this worthy program in which we are
participating.

Rabbi Pressman

Imagine everyone you know, reading & discussing the same book. It’s a great
way to create a shared sense of community.

This year, the JCC and other South Bay Jewish organizations are encouraging
everyone to read the novel As A Driven Leaf, by Milton Steinberg.

This Thursday will be the first of several community-wide events in the JCC
Auditorium.

These events are scheduled for January 31st, March 27th, and May 15th. These
events will consist of presentations and discussions at the JCC on themes
related to the book, led by local rabbis.

Jan. 31st at 7:30pm: Rabbi Dana Magat of Temple Emanu-El and Rabbi Daniel
Pressman of Congregation Beth David discuss “Tradition and Modernity: How to
Walk the Line.”

March 27th at 7:30pm: Rabbi Joshua Berkenwald and guest discuss “Faith and
Doubt.”

May 15th at 7:30pm: Rabbi Melanie Aron of Congregation Shir Hadash and guest
discuss “Jewish Renegades: Can We Welcome Them Home?”

We encourage your attendance
