Do Not Pass Go: Vote for Jerusalem on Monopoly World Edition Now
Posted by challahbackgirl on February 15, 2008
We’re all familiar with the classic board game of Monopoly. For 60 years over 480 million people have played this game on over 250 million sets that have been sold. Now we have a say on which places make the board of the up and coming Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition.
Mr. Monopoly has pre-selected 68 cities, including Jerusalem, Israel, that you can chose from. You can also nominate any other city, known as Wildcard cities.
“The 20 pre-selected cities with the highest worldwide votes on February 29 2008 will make it onto the board. Plus, you will have from March 1 to March 9 2008 to vote on the most nominated Wildcard cities. Only the top two will make it on the board!”
When I voted today, San Francisco was #15 of the Wild Card cities and Jerusalem is rocking it at #7 of the 68 pre-selected cities. Help these stay up in the ranks or move up, by casting your vote now. [Editor’s Note: Voting works best in IE]
The whole worlds in on the voting, so vote today and everyday until Fe 28 when voting closes. It only takes a moment to sign up, and then you can start voting.
After the jump are a few more tips and instructions I got in an e-mail yesterday, bringing my attention to this fun way of getting Israel on the board and helping our homeland out. Just think, Birthright gives you a once in a life time free trip to Israel, but you could own Jerusalem Real Estate, over and over again, with the right roll of the dice, if you just vote now.
While you’re visiting the Monopoly site to cast your vote or view the current leader board, you can print some extra money if you’re low on cash and learn fun facts like “Escape maps, compasses and files were inserted into MONOPOLY® game boards smuggled into POW camps inside Germany during World War II. Real money for escapees was slipped into the packs of MONOPOLY® money.”
