Shabbat Eco-Candle

Shabbat Eco-Candle $5.00 a box from Congregation Beth David's main office 408.257.3333

Congregation has been working on being environmentally friendly for a while now, but now they are one of thirteen pilot congregations to initiate a Conservative Movement Greening Initiative, officially kicking off this Rosh Hashanah. You’ll notice biodegratable flatware and utensils as onegs, coming soon to their website will be a link to a carbon-offset program, a solar Ner Tamid, and possibly more solar features, and they are selling Eco-Candles for Shabbat. These shabbat tea candles were created by the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs (FJMC) are soy based, with no carbon footprint. They are made from 100% renewable resources grown in the United States. Order a box or more from Congregation Beth David’s office, 408-257-3333 for $5.00 a box. FJMC has a few other suggestions on the USCJ website.
