Dear Friends,

Despite our best efforts, and the stalwart support of our Culture Club members and other committed customers, we are saddened to announce that we have been done in by the recession and will close bob and bob after 26 years of serving the Jewish community of the Peninsula. We will begin our going-out-of-business sale this Sunday, January 11, with a 20% discount off the original price of all merchandise. This will include all books, giftware, sterling silver, haggadahs, jewelry, toys, music, ready-to-buy ketubot, and shofars. Everything in stock will be on sale.

The sale will continue over the next few weeks, with deeper discounts until we’ve sold almost everything. We will continue to accept bob and bob gift-cards and store credits throughout the sale. We will also be selling display fixtures and display props. All reasonable offers will be accepted.

The most effective way you can support us through this transition is to come in and shop: think of gift-giving needs you’ll have over the next 6-12 months and stock up, including wrapping paper, books, toys, paper plates and Hanukkah lights; get yourself something you’ve had your eye on for a while; buy books for your favorite library or some menorahs to give to the Jewish Family and Children’s Service. We find ourselves with many bills to pay and we need to raise the cash to pay them.

It would also be great if you could forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in buying top quality Judaica at a discount.

We are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to be a central part of Jewish community life for a generation. We have become close friends with many of our customers and have been privileged to laugh and cry with them as we shared life’s vicissitudes together. We hope you’ll stop by and say good-bye.

With best wishes,
Shirley Bob and ellen bob
