Bob and Bob’s Final Day

Posted by challahbackgirl on January 29, 2009

The time has come Bob and Bob is shutting it’s doors, this Friday, January 30th. It was only a couple weeks ago that they announced they’re closing. There will be a tribute to them at the BJE Feast of Jewish Learning at Beth Am. The out pouring of love they received this week has come from all over. Here’s their own parting words:

Dear Friends,

Our store will be open tomorrow, Friday, 11-3, for one last day of business. We still have a number of interesting books on our shelves, velevet and satin kippot, lots of key chains and assorted display items that many customers have found will work well in their homes.

You will be able to contact us over the next couple weeks at the store phone number 650-947-7010 and this email should work for the foreseeable future.

We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support from the community since we made the announcement that we are going out of business. We look forward to seeing many of you at the tribute to bob and bob at the Feast of Jewish Learning, Saturday evening at 7:00 at Congregation Beth Am.

It has been our privilege to serve this community. Thank you for a wonderful 26 years.

With best wishes,
Shirley Bob and Ellen Bob

P.S. For your future Judaica needs, please consider shopping at Alef Bet in Los Gatos (, Dayenu in San Francisco(, and Afikomen in Berkeley (

  1. On October 27th Bob and Bob purchased 60 beaded kippot from me wholesale at $258.
I would really like to get paid, especially because I am certain at this point you knew the store was closing. Please call me toll free at 1-888-884-3004. I can’t blame you for closing the store, but making an order when you knew full well you are closing is not right, and I am hoping you can correct this situation.

Hello outstanding website! Does running a blog such as this require a large
amount of work? I have very little understanding of coding however I had been hoping to start my own blog soon.
Anyway, if you have any ideas or tips for new
blog owners please share. I understand this is off subject however I simply needed to ask.
