This Yom HaShoah remember the lives of the 6 million Jews and 5 million others who perished in the Holocaust, the struggles of the survivors and the lessons it has to teach us around the SF Bay Area.

The centerpiece will be a candle-lighting ceremony by Holocaust survivors escorted by local teens and college students.

Featured speakers: three generations of the Turner/Bornstein family, telling the story of the journey from Europe through Shanghai to Santa Rosa, and the transmission of Holocaust memory within their family and Gesher Calmenson, founder of Remember Us: The Holocaust Bnai Mitzvah Project will share ways that Holocaust memory is being transmitted to a new generation in synagogues around the country.

Musical selections by gifted teen musicians from the Jewish Community High School of the Bay in San Francisco accompanied by Maestro Gary Sheldon, and liturgical music by cantorial soloist Fredi Bloom.
