Bike Monterey’s 17-Mile Drive with Jews’ Next Dor

Posted by jewsnextdor on June 29, 2009

Sunday, July 26, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Biking Monterey’s 17-Mile Drive

Join us for a bike ride along the beautiful 17-mile drive of Monterey! We’ll meet at 10:00 AM at Congregation Beth David to carpool down to Pacific Grove, where we’ll rent bikes and helmets and bike the coast for several hours. Bringing your own bike is not necessary; however, a limited number of bike rentals are available, so if you can transport your own bike that would be great.

Cost to rent a bike is $22, payable in cash at the beginning of the event. You should also bring your camera (both the bike ride and the drive to and from will be gorgeous), a sack lunch if you want to eat between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM that day, and, of course, a water bottle.

Due to the limited number of bike rentals available, RSVPs in advance are absolutely necessary. Please RSVP by Sunday, July 19, to JewsNextDor[at]beth-david.org in order to be included. In your RSVP, please say a) if you can drive a carpool (and, if so, how many people can ride with you), b) if you can transport bikes (and, if so, how this changes your ability to transport people), c) if you have your own bike to bring or will want to rent. You will be contacted no later than Wednesday, July 22 to be notified of whether you are needed to drive and whether you can get one of the bike rentals.

Schedule for the day is as follows:

10:00 AM Meet at Beth David, depart for Monterey

11:45 AM Rent bikes, eat lunches

12:15 PM Begin biking

4:15 PM Return bikes, depart for Beth David

6:00 PM Return to Beth David

****RSVPing by Facebook is appreciated as well; however, due to the detail-oriented nature of the RSVP for this event, the only RSVPs that will be considered official and binding will be those that come via e-mail.***
