Posted by challahbackgirl on November 2, 2009

Roots Collective, Beth Am Young Adults invites you to their November events for Jewish young adults.

Thursday, November 5, 7pm – 10pm – Pub Night (Antonio’s Nut House: 321 S California Ave., Palo Alto)

Join your Roots Collective crowd for a night of schmoozing at Antonio’s Nut House in Palo Alto. Hang out with friends and have a beer!

Friday, November 13, 6:15pm – Shabbat Dinner (Beth Am)

Gather with friends, new and old, to unwind at the end of a busy week, and kick-off the week-end in a relaxing way.  We’ll eat, chat, and have some fun.  Dinner will start at 7:30.  Prior to dinner, you are invited to attend services with the Beth Am community, beginning at 6:15. A group of Roots Collective members will be sitting together and would love to have you join us. Rabbi David Forman, a founder of Israel’s Rabbis for Human Rights, will be speaking about the current state of human rights affairs in Israel during the service; in addition, he will speak at 5 PM in the sanctuary on “Can a Jewish State be a Democratic State?”. For details, please see http://www.betham.org/download/DavidFormanFlyer.pdf.

If you can’t make it in time for services, please join us for dinner anyway. Cost: $15 per person.

Thursday, November 19, 7pm – 9pm – Roots Collective Salon (Peet’s Coffee on Castro, just West of El Camino in Mountain View)

Join us this month for our monthly discussion of topics salient and provocative.  Our very own Roots Collective members have been volunteering to lead these discussions.  If you are interested in leading, hosting, have an idea for a topic, or want more information, please email Brian and Katy Levine at salon@rootscollective.org. We will be sending out information on this month’s topic as soon as it is available.
