Jews’ Next Dor is Congregation Beth David’s Young Adult Group. “Dor” means “generation” in Hebrew. We’re an active community of Jewish 20 and 30 somethings centered in the South Bay. We enjoy multiple events each month including celebrating holidays, social action/mitzvahs, education and of course social events around the Bay Area. Our community is comprised of singles and couples and is fully volunteer-lead.

Jews’ Next Dor also serves as a resource for Young Jewish Life in the Bay Area. Don’t miss out on all the fun being had! We look forward to meeting you at a future event.

For Day 1 of Rosh Hashana, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur look for Jews’ Next Dor at Kehila K’tana, which is in Worner Hall of Ascension Church across the parking lot from the Beth David building. For all other services we will be in the main building of Beth David.

One of Jews’ Next Dor’s own will be leading Sharchit at Kehila K’tana on both Rosh Hashana Day 1 and on Yom Kippur. Other young adults will have honors as well.

On Erev Rosh Hashana Beth David has 2 services, they are the same, you can either attend the 6pm or the 8pm service, there will be young adults at both (I’ll be at the 6pm).

Note that Kehila K’tana can get very warm, particularly if it’s hot outside.

Join us at Calabazas Park, by the creek, for this lovely experience as we symbolically cast our sins into the flowing stream, as a physical gesture of our sincere desire for repentance and renewal.

A word about the services and their locations from Congregation Beth David:

Kehila K’tana: Relaxed, informal setting – more explanation & congregational participation – comfortable for families with young children – wider aisles, less crowded, doors are always open

Kehila Gadola: Traditional formal services – less well-suited for families with young children, often somewhat crowded

Beth David members may attend either service.  Due to space limitations, if you are not a Beth David member you will attend services at Khila K’tana.

WHERE ARE THESE SERVICES?

Kehila K’tana is in Worner Hall across the parking lot from the Beth David building.
Kehila Gadola is in the main sanctuary of Beth David.
