President’s Message – 4.28.2011 Upcoming Events

Posted by sjwisch on April 28, 2011

Shalom, Chaverim. I hope everyone is enjoying their chametz after eight days of matzah. Thank you to all who came out last night for our Post Passover Pizza Party and to Adrianna L. for organizing this event.  I cannot believe April is over and May is almost here. This year is going by so fast!

I just want to remind everyone that we have some AMAZING events coming up and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sunday, May 1: We have a truly wonderful opportunity to have dinner with Holocaust survivors. The next generation will not have this opportunity, and it is our responsibility to pass on the stories and messages, and how they have taken their experiences into their lives. Please join Jews’ Next Dor and Temple Emanu-El’s Chai Society for this event. Cost is free for all survivors and $12 for others who wish to attend.  RSVP due by tonight: .

Monday, May 2:  Lace up your shoes and get ready to rumble as Jews’ Next Dor and Temple Emanu-El team up again for bowling at Homestead Lanes in Cupertino! Please RSVP in advance so we can ensure enough lanes are reserved. Cost is $18 which gets you two hours of bowling, shoes, pizza and sodas.

Friday, May 6: Join Jews’ Next Dor for our first Friday Shabbat Potluck hosted at a private home in Cupertino. Meet new friends and see old ones as we light candles and eat challah.  Please RSVP on Facebook and review the food/drink assignments.  The address will be sent out closer to the event.

Wednesday, May 11: Join us for our 2nd Wednesday Meet and Greet at Siam Royal Thai in Palo Alto. We will be feasting on delicious vegetarian dishes as we dine family style. Please RSVP on the Facebook invite so we can order enough food for all.  Cost will be $10-$20/person, and small bills are appreciated.!/event.php?eid=178707472180439

More events are in the pipeline, so stay tuned for details.  If you are interested in planning an event for Jews’ Next Dor, please contact me and I can help you plan it. Our board members can also give you guidance as well.

Also, remember that Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 8. So, time to start thinking about recognizing all of the fabulous moms out there…as none of us would be here if it weren’t for our moms.

Shabbat Shalom,

Sari Wisch, President
