When: May 22nd, 2011, 10:30am-6pm
Where: Congregation Beth David — 19700 Prospect Rd., Saratoga, CA

Marvel at cool sandstone-rock formations and great views of the Santa Cruz mountains!

Please bring a dairy/vegetarian lunch with you and meet us as 10:30am at Congregation Beth David (19700 Prospect Rd., Saratoga, CA) to carpool to Castle Rock State Park. Castle Rock’s day-use fees are $8 per car — we’ll split the fees among the passengers in each car.

You can also meet us at the trailhead (see the hike description website below) at 11:30am.

The hike will be 4.7 miles with 1000 ft elevation change. Certain parts of the trail may be steep, narrow, and/or loosely-soiled. We will likely also spend some time playing around on the various rock formations.

You can find an exact hike description.

  • Hiking boots
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Lunch

  • Hat
  • Hiking poles (if you normally use them, this is a park where you will want them)
