Event: Jews’ Next Dor & JUCI Punk Jews Filmmakers Havdalah Party

Posted by moshez on May 11, 2011

When: May 21st, 2011, 9pm-12:30am
Where: Private Home — Sunnyvale, CA
Organizers: Sari W. and JUCI

Has mainstream Judaism gone stale? Rebel! And come hear about Punk Jews, Hasidic hip hop, screaming the Shema, and Jewish street theater. Jews’ Next Dor is joining the regular JUCI 3rd Saturday Havdalah party as it presents Jesse Zook-Mann and Evan Kleinman, creators of Punk Jews, a new film featuring stories of people expressing Jewish culture and religion in unconventional and awesome ways. Learn about being Jewish in your own way as they show clips, talk about the Punk Jews movement, and share what it takes to create a film.

Admission is free, but please bring a bottle of wine or a vegetarian dessert. Note this is a shoeless house and one with a cat. Every 3rd Saturday of the month, the night starts with cozy havdalah goodness with fire, wine, spices, and singing. Join us! RSVP for address.
