Elkhorn Slough near Monterey is a great location where slumbering seals and playful otters, pelicans, hawks and other shore birds can be seen. And, kayaking is the best way to see them close up. Join Jews’ Next Door as we explore it this October during one of the sunniest times on the Slough which is also during the annual bird migration. All in all, a great time to explore.
We will be renting kayaks for the day for $27/person. All rentals include optional wetsuits, paddling jacket, and paddling pant, as well as a lifejacket. All rentals include an orientation to the Reserve with weather and tidal info. Bring a bathing suit, quick drying clothing, water shoes, and hat. Please also bring a light lunch to enjoy when we get down there.
We will meet at Congregation Beth David (19700 Prospect Road Saratoga, CA 95070) at 10:00am to carpool down to the Slough.
If you want to meet us there, please join us at 2390 Hwy 1 Moss Landing, CA 95039 at around 11:30.
