Blog Policy

Jews’ Next Dor the blog is a forum for free expression provided by Congregation Beth David. The views expressed are not necessarily the views of Congregation Beth David. The views expressed by anonymous commenter’s are not the views of the blog and belong solely to their authors.

It is the opinion of Jews’ Next Dor the blog that a healthier blog community develops when people can trust that their voice will be heard. We feel that censoring comments in any way shape or form leads to bad feelings and mistrust. Jews’ Next Dor board will only censor comments in extreme circumstances. If we do, we will openly state that we have done so and why.

As a Jewish blog we are not just concerned about legal matters, but also take into consideration Jewish ethics. Such as the principle of Lashon Hara, the evil tongue. It is expected that those who participate in the Jews’ Next Dor blog will be respectful and considerate of other participants, in line with these values.

“I may attack a certain point of view which I consider false, but I will never attack a person who preaches it. I have always a high regard for the individual who is honest and moral, even when I am not in agreement with him. Such a relation is in accord with the concept of kavod habriyot, for beloved is man for he is created in the image of God.” —Rav Joseph Soloveitchik. Just as Rav Soloveitchik said please do not engage in ad hominem attacks but rather argue the points.
