Where: Congregation Beth David 19700 Prospect Road  Saratoga, CA 95070

Want to meet the Recruiter for Evernote?  Looking for a friendly, low pressure networking opportunity?  Can you help mentor high school students, graduates preparing for college, or young adults at the start of their careers?  Would you like advice for your own career from a successful business person in your field?
Join the Beth David community — including Jews’ Next Dor and the Beth David Career Advancement Chavurah — for a special event on August 26 during the Beth David Summer Showcase.
We will kick off the event ON TIME with a Q&A session with a professional recruiter.  Alina Basina has recruited for Google and Skype, and now has brought her recruiting expertise to Evernote.  Bring your burning questions and find out what the HR rep on the other side of the submit button is thinking.
Networking will be facilitated by seating small groups at tables, then rotating those tables every 5 minutes.  With each rotation, you will sit with new people.  Think speed dating but with much less pressure.  Afterwards you can use our check-the-box form to make your contact info available to specific people.
We will wind down the event with a more traditional form of networking, the chance to continue schmoozing over some kosher nosh.  Be sure to bring your business cards and resumes.
Either via Facebook at or via the website at or e-mail RSVP at

July 4th Kosher BBQ & Pool Party

Posted by egotesman on June 4, 2012

When: 11:30 am – 4 pm, July 4, 2012
Where: Private Home, RSVP for the Address, San Jose
Come join your fellow Jews’ Next Dor friends as we fire up the grill and head poolside to celebrate the 4th of July!

Our Kosher BBQ will feature a delicious meal prepared by a team of Jews’ Next Dor volunteers, including your choice of a hamburger, a chicken burger, or a veggie burger, plus all-you-can-eat hot dogs. We’ll also be serving up buffet style sides, drinks, and desserts, all for $10 per person. Help us out and head on over to to RSVP and let us know your entree choice by June 28th, 2012.

In order to keep this event strictly kosher, we ask that you don’t bring any food at all. We’re sure you have an awesome recipe for this or that dish — we look forward to tasting it at the next Shabbat Potluck. For now, let us treat you!

To make this event a success, volunteers are needed. Some of the tasks include: shopping for food, preparing salads and other items, set up, passing around the attendance list, handing out meal tickets, grilling/cooking, and clean up. Those willing to help out, please send a quick email to and indicate which little task you would prefer to assist with. One of the event’s organizers will then contact you with further information.

As if all that great food and fellowship with other young adult noshers isn’t enough, be sure to bring swimsuits, flip flops, towels, sunscreen and other gear to frolic in our host’s pool!

To RSVP visit; please contact with any questions.

(Legal disclaimer: please don’t punish our host’s generosity by suing us or them if you get in an accident using the pool. As with any other Jews’ Next Dor event, you participate with us at your own risk.)

Lag B’Omer BBQ and Bonfire with JSN

Posted by challahbackgirl on May 1, 2012

When: 7:30pm-9:30pm, Thursday, May 10, 2012

Where: Lucie Stern Fire Pit, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA 94301

33 Days after Passover, comes the holiday of Lag BaOmer. Some say it commemorates the end of a plague which killed thousands of Rabbi Akiva’s students, some, the yahrzeit of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, while others say that it commemorates the Bar KokhbaRevolt against the Roman Empire.

Whatever the case may be, come with Jews’ Next Dor as we join with the Jewish Study Network for an exciting Lag BaOmer celebration, including a fire dance, live music, great torah, BBQ, socializing and, of course, a bonfire!
