Friends and Neighbors,

Welcome to November!

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped to make our October events happen, including (in no particular order) but not limited to Shelli C., Tiffany T., Simona S., Michelle L., Ilana M., Jennifer W., Nathan H., Shelley T., David H., David M., David K., Daniel W., Shanda K., Aleeza A., Ella G., Ben L., Bianca M., Craig K., Jennifer M., Amir C., Yonatan B., Doug B.,  Ilya G., Shoshana O., and Rabbi Ohriner.

Our volunteers are critical to our group and, as you can see, it takes many of them to bring our events to life each month. No gift of time is too small. We also value your feedback, which helps us improve. Come find out ways to volunteer, share your events ideas, and get help from our veteran volunteers at our next Volunteer Meeting http://wp.me/p3HcM-Rv on November 15, 2011 in Mountain View. You can still join our volunteer core even if you can’t make the meeting; just drop us a note at JewsNextDor@beth-david.org.

Help us bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season by participating in our Toy Drive, which is going on now. Coming to an event this month? Bring an unwrapped, new toy for ages 0-17. You can also drop it off in the box in the lobby of Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Road, Saratoga, CA.

Join some of our past participants that have made aliyah and some current members who will be visiting Israel this winter at our first event in Tel Aviv. If you’ll be in Israel on December 22, we encourage you to attend http://wp.me/p3HcM-Rt. Think of it as Meet & Greet: Tel Aviv Edition.

Along with our monthly staples of Meet & Greet (this month at Siam Fine Thai Cuisine) http://wp.me/p3HcM-Rr and Potluck Shabbat Hol HaMoed Yom Turkey http://wp.me/p3HcM-R4, this month we’ve got the return of an annual classic and a brand new event with the OFJCC that you won’t want to miss.

Who can say “no” to a free ice cream sundae bar? Come enjoy it at our annual Ice Cream Social and Board Game Night http://wp.me/p3HcM-R2 this Saturday night in the Social Hall at Congregation Beth David. Bring your board games to share.

Join us in your best 20s-era costume at the Juice Joint (Oshman Family JCC) for a Roaring 20s Murder Mystery http://wp.me/p3HcM-R8. Please help us out and RSVP in advance so we can get your character information. Walk-ins welcome.

Our 2nd Annual Talent Show Benefit for Jews’ Next Dor http://wp.me/p3HcM-Rk will be here before you know it. Do you have a talent that you’re willing to share?  Fill out this form http://bit.ly/performersignup to sign up to perform! Registration deadline is January 3, and rehearsal dates are January 9 and January 15.  This year, we are putting a particular emphasis on small group performances—so sign up with your creative, entertaining ideas!  If you aren’t a performer, don’t worry; there are still several other ways to be involved. Please contact us at JewsNextDor@beth-david.org for information on the other volunteers we need. Most importantly, we need you, your friends, and your family in the audience! Get your tickets online https://www.wepay.com/tickets/view/63643 for $8 in advance for ages 13+, $10 at the door. Ages 12 and under are $5 anytime.

We look forward to seeing you and your Jewish 20 & 30 something friends,

Aleeza, Ben, Bianca, David, Ella, Levi & Shelli
